Terms of Service

1. Agreement and eligibility
By creating an account or using NutriScope, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service. You must be legally able to enter into this agreement in your location. People under 13 may not create an account, and older minors may need permission from a parent or guardian.
2. The service
NutriScope helps users look up food products, review nutrition information, record food intake, and compare intake with personal targets. Features may change, be added, or be removed as the product develops. Pre-release features may be incomplete or unavailable.
3. Not medical advice
NutriScope is not a doctor, dietitian, healthcare provider, emergency service, or substitute for professional care. Calculations and goals are estimates for general informational use. Do not use NutriScope to diagnose or treat a medical condition, manage an eating disorder, make emergency decisions, or replace advice from a qualified professional.
Consult a qualified healthcare professional before changing diet, activity, supplements, or treatment, particularly if you are pregnant, under medical care, have allergies, diabetes, kidney or heart conditions, an eating disorder, or another condition affected by nutrition.
4. Accounts and security
You are responsible for providing accurate information, protecting access to your email and devices, and notifying the operator of suspected unauthorized access. Do not share one-time codes or attempt to access another person’s account. You may delete your account through the app or the web deletion page.
5. Acceptable use
You may not:
- Use NutriScope unlawfully, fraudulently, or to harm another person.
- Probe, bypass, overload, or interfere with authentication, rate limits, authorization, or infrastructure.
- Upload malicious files or deliberately false, infringing, or dangerous product information.
- Scrape, resell, or systematically copy the product database except where applicable law permits.
- Reverse engineer protected portions of the service except where that restriction is prohibited by law.
- Use automated access without written permission.
6. Nutrition, allergen, and third-party data
Product data may come from manufacturers, public databases, administrators, users, and automated extraction. Although quality checks and verification indicators are used, nutrition values, ingredients, serving sizes, dietary labels, and allergens may be incomplete, outdated, or wrong. Manufacturers can change formulations without notice.
Always check the package and contact the manufacturer when accuracy is important, especially for allergies or medical restrictions. A verified indicator means the entry passed the service’s review process; it is not a guarantee.
7. Your content and feedback
You keep ownership of information you submit. You grant the operator a limited, worldwide license to host, process, reproduce, and adapt that information only as needed to operate, secure, and improve NutriScope. Do not submit content you do not have the right to use. Feedback may be used without restriction or compensation, but personal information remains subject to the Privacy Policy.
A recipe you share is reviewed before anyone else sees it, and you may withdraw it at any point before it is approved. Once it is approved it is published to everyone using NutriScope under your display name, and other people may rely on it — so it stays published, without your name on it, if you later delete your account, and removing it after approval is handled through support. Submit a recipe only if you are content for it to be used that way.
8. Intellectual property
NutriScope’s software, design, branding, and original content are owned by or licensed to the operator and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These Terms grant a personal, limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service for its intended purpose.
9. App stores and subscriptions
If paid features are introduced, price, billing period, renewal, trial, and cancellation details will be shown before purchase. Apple App Store or Google Play purchases are also governed by the applicable store terms. Deleting a NutriScope account may not automatically cancel a store subscription; manage subscription billing through the store account used for purchase.
10. Availability and changes
The service is provided on an “as available” basis. Maintenance, security incidents, provider outages, legal requirements, or product changes may interrupt access. We may modify these Terms and will provide notice of material changes when required. Continued use after an effective update constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
11. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, NutriScope and its operator disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service or error-free nutrition data.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for losses caused by reliance on product, allergen, goal, or nutrition information. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded or limits mandatory consumer rights.
12. Suspension and termination
You may stop using NutriScope or delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary for security, illegal use, material breach, harm to users or infrastructure, or discontinuation of the service. Provisions that logically survive termination—including intellectual property, disclaimers, liability limits, and dispute terms—will continue.
13. Governing terms and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Maldives, and the courts of the Republic of Maldives have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them. Mandatory consumer protections in your place of residence continue to apply. If part of these Terms is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
